Abstract
The objective of this work is to share experiences of an anthropological research that aimed to analyze the relationship prostate cancer from a sociocultural approach in health, and which sought to be carried out in the University Hospital of Puebla (HUP), attached to the Benemérita Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP), in Mexico. The paper presents a general report related to different obstacles that arose for the development of the project in the space of the aforementioned hospital institution, in order to present a conceptual review on the relationship between male identity and what are constituted as "corporal borders" of males in the framework of scientific medicine. The research concludes with a reflection on the need to approach health as an object of transdisciplinary study that allows other forms of approach in the study of prostate cancer, as well as certain problems associated with it, such as delay in diagnosis, access and medical attention.
